Today, I Consider Myself, The Luckeist Man, On the Face of the Earth.

"A good book should leave you... slightly
exhausted at the end. You live several
lives while reading it. "
- William Styron

Up until a few months ago, I always hated reading. I've always had problems really getting into things that didn't have a lot of pictures. That was until I discovered the greatness that is Graphic Novels. I started to eat them up and really get into them. The stories and illustrations are so original and really out of this world. Before today, I had 4 graphic novels that I love and still enjoy reading.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volumes I + II,

and

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is my all time favorite. If you saw the movie, it was ok, but the novels are 1000 times better and I can't recommend enough. And today, at 2pm.....the new members of my graphic novel family arrived; Watchmen and Arkham Asylum : A Serious House on Serious Earth.

Here's the synopsis for Watchmen

Watchmen is set in 1985, in an alternative United States where costumed adventurers are real and the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union (the Doomsday Clock is at five minutes to midnight). It tells the story of a group of past and present superheroes and the events surrounding the mysterious murder of one of their own. Watchmen depicts superheroes as real people who must confront ethical and personal issues, who struggle with neuroses and failings, and who - with one notable exception - lack anything recognizable as super powers.

Yes, that's freaking awesome!

And here's the synopsis for

Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth.

The inmates of Arkham Asylum have taken over Gothams detention center for the criminally insane on April Fools Day, demanding Batman in exchange for their hostages. Accepting their demented challenge, Batman is forced to live and endure the personal hells of the Joker, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Two-Face and many other sworn enemies in order to save the innocents and retake the prison. During his run through this absurd gauntlet, the Dark Knights own sanity is placed in jeopardy.

You can't tell me that's not freaking sweet!!!! Just finished it and DAM, my new love is dark, demented, and in paperback form. (Why can't everything be in hardback, hardback rocks!)

Hope everyone is having a great week and that the coming weekend is filled with fun.
